2023 week #30 Fiechter Stay-cation

Our Fiechter family vacation was a bit different this year, as our lake accommodations fell through, and it’s a mite tricky to find a last second summer place for 50+ people.

Enter the first Fiechter Family Stay-cation.

We spent a lot of time at Grandpa and Grandma’s, and then a day at the lakes.

As with any vacation, food is very important.  We were rather shocked on day #2 when we realized that the crew had pretty much already blown through all the snacks.  Thank goodness for WalMart pickup.

One afternoon, Uncle Rick shared his harrowing tale of his encounter with “the Corn Monster”, complete with a tour showing where it had taken place.

Another day, we loaded up and visited Pine Lake.

The guys enjoyed an amazing meal at Ruth’s Chris.  ( Despite Doug’s face saying the opposite, I heard each dish was quite delish )

Us gals enjoyed Catableu, and then dessert at Debrands.

There were plenty of games ….

lots of coloring …..

loads of giggles …..

…. and plenty of motor’s.

There were neck and neck family olympic events; some of which I’m contesting the results of, but that’s another story

The final event was devising a way to cushion an egg, with provided supplies, that would then be dropped from a fork lift.

Each team’s invention was very unique.

Shockingly, all eggs survived, so the top two teams faced off in an egg throw.
